**README for HaltOS.EXE

Thank you for downloading HaltOS!  This is my first attempt

at writing an OS/2 program.  I have often had a need for

a text-based shutdown program, and seeing as how necessity

is the mother of invention, I decided to write one.

THIS SOFTWARE IS IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN!!  I do not ask for

any payment whatsoever for this program.  If you want to

make a contribution, do so by showing others how good

of an OS OS/2 is.

It is a very simple to use program.  To run it, go to aa

command prompt and type "haltos".  Then, if you are sure you

want to shut down, type "YES" in all capital letters.

WARNING!!!  THIS WILL NOT SAVE ANY DATA YOU CURRENTLY HAVE

OPEN...ALL IT DOES IS FLUSHES THE BUFFERS AND SECURES THE

FILE SYSTEMS!
