CD55A OS/2 Device Driver
Installation Procedure
**** If you have previously installed OS.2 ****
To correctly setup your CD55A (SuperQuad) CD-ROM drive in an OS/2 environment,
copy the TEAC CD55A driver TEACCD1.ADD file into the OS/2 subdirectory.
copy x:\TEACCD1.ADD C:\OS2\TEACCD1.ADD
Make sure the following files exist in the OS2 subdirectory. If they are not
in the OS/2 subdirectory, copy them from the OS2CDR package into C:\OS2
VCDROM.SYS, OS2CDROM.DMD & CDFS.IFS
Add the following line statements into the OS/2 config.sys file.
BASEDEV=TEACCD1.ADD /P:XXX /T:X /S:X /I:X
| | | \-- Power Save Time: H=30 sec, M=60 sec or
| | | L=180 sec. Omit switch for default
| | | time of 360 sec.
| | |
| | \------- CD-ROM Fixed Speed, 1, 2 or 4. Omit
| | switch for auto speed setting.
| |
| \------- Host Adapter Type: 0=Sound Blaster, 1=TEAC
| or 2=Sound Blaster compatble.
|
\------------- Host Adapter Port Address: 220, 230, 330
DEVICE=C:\OS2\VCDROM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\OS2\OS2CDROM.DMD
IFS=C:\OS2\CDFS.IFS /Q
**** Creating an OS/2 environment for installation from a CD-ROM disk. ****
1. Make two disks using INSTALL.BAT or INSTALL.CMD that came in
the OS/2 ver. 2.1 CD-ROM.
2. Copy the TEACCD1.ADD file into the second disk made in step 1 above.
If there isn't enough disk space remove any .ADD files that will be
used.
3. Add the following line to the CONFIG.SYS file on the second disk
created in step 1 above.
BASEDEV=TEACCD1.ADD /P:XXX /T:X /S:X /I:X

4. Continue with the installation of OS/2 as normal.

You must use the OS/2 Multi Media Presentation installation to add CD-ROM Audio
support. This will enable you to play your music CDs.
