 * With this SCSI driver you will be able to connect other (internal) SCSI peripherals

 * besides the HP CD-Writer, and use them under OS/2.

 *************************************************************************

 * However, for the CD-Writer to work you need copyrighted, propietary drivers that

 * come bundled with OS/2 CD-recording software. (UNITE CD MAKER or maybe

 * GEAR for OS/2).

Quick Note:

----------

Like many OS/2 users, I'm beggining to wonder what's the

problem with Hewlett Packard and their lack of OS/2 support. They have

great products like their ScanJet scanners, or the HP SureStore

CD-Writer, but they don't include .ADD drivers for *ANY* of their SCSI

controllers bundled with their products (not to talk about scanner

drivers or OS/2 CD-R software). They have an "os/2 software" section in

their support home page that is completely EMPTY! (no files at all!!).

If you want to use your HP SureStore unit with OS/2, you

have two choices for native CD-recording: GEAR, and UNITE CD-MAKER.

Gear doesn't include support for the SureStore's bundled SCSI card,

but UNITE CD-Maker does.

These drivers come from the UNITE CD-Maker freely

distributable demo version, available on their web site at the

Cirrus Technology web site (http://www.cirunite.com). After looking at

the drivers, I found that the SCSI driver (c) belongs to Advanced Systems

Products, makers of the SCSI interface, and not Cirrus.

So, instead of writing just a text file pointing to the

Unite demo, I've written a driver profile so you can install the AdvanSys

SCSI drivers automatically using the Device Driver Install object in the

OS/2 System Setup folder.

INSTALLATION:

------------

From the OS/2 desktop, press the 2nd mouse button and select

"System Setup" from the pop-up menu, then double-click on the "Device

Driver Install" object.

Or, from an os/2 command prompt, type DDINSTAL.

The drivers will be installed automatically.

    Shutdown and reboot your system.

 * This install doesn't check if the adapter is actually installed

 * in the workstation.  (It's my first time hacking a DPP file :)
