Prerequisites
- OS/2 Warp 4 FixPak 13 or higher, eCS 1.x, 2.x, ArcaOS 5.x.
- 32-bit TCP/IP stack.
- 150MB available space on drive to be designated as %UNIXROOT%.
- WarpIN 1.0.19 or higher, available here.
- For OS/2 and eCS, the kLIBC Pathrewriters, 1.0.2 or later, available here. Note that eCS version 2.x should already have the kLIBC Pathrewriters package installed. To confirm, look in your System Setup folder for the kLIBC Pathrewriters configuration object. If present, then this package is already installed. ArcaOS (all versions) includes a replacement utility, so this package is not needed for those systems.
Installation
Ensure that all of the prerequisites have been met, and that any additional language packs are located in the same directory as the US English main installer. Double-click the main installer from a desktop folder to start the install, and follow the instructions. Be sure to select your preferred language pack(s) during installation.
Upgrading
To upgrade an installed Arca Noae Package Manager, download the US English main installer package, above, as well as any desired language packs, as these may have been updated to reflect changes to the main program. Ensure that Arca Noae Package Manager is not running, double-click the main installer from a desktop folder to start the install, and follow the instructions. Be sure to select your preferred language pack(s) during installation. Arca Noae Package Manager is designed to be upgraded in place, and the new version should just replace the existing older files, leaving your preferences and repository configuration as-is.
Important note for systems with non-updated RPM/YUM
A system with an existing RPM/YUM installation which has not been updated recently may require special care. Please review this page before running a YUM | Update all… operation from a new Arca Noae Package Manager installation or if you have an empty package list when Arca Noae Package Manager starts.
